We are licensed and insured, and we remodel kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and whole homes in Petoskey, Boyne City, Harbor Springs, East Jordan, and the Walloon Lake area. How long will my remodel take?
The short answer
A typical remodel runs from a few weeks of work for a bathroom with no layout change to several months for a whole home. Moving walls or plumbing adds rough-in and inspection time, and custom or special-order items add lead time before work starts. Your actual schedule is set after the walkthrough, and we put it in writing.
Typical remodel phases
Remodeling means living around the work, so it helps to know which phases keep your rooms in use and which do not. When a remodel needs plumbing, electrical, or other specialty trades, we bring them in and coordinate the sequence.

Worked example: one kitchen, two ways
This is a generic kitchen built from typical trade ranges, not a TNT Construction job. It shows how a layout change stretches the schedule.
- Kitchen A: same layout
- New cabinets in stock sizes go where the old ones were. The sink, range, and fridge stay where they are.
- Kitchen B: layout change
- The sink moves to a new wall and a non-load-bearing wall comes out to open the room. The new cabinet layout is special order.

- Lead times move the start. Stock cabinets for Kitchen A typically arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. The special-order cabinets for Kitchen B typically take 6 to 12 weeks. The kitchen stays in use while you wait, but demo starts later.
- Rough-in and inspection stretch the middle. In Kitchen A the plumbing and wiring stay close to where they are, so rough-in and inspection together typically run 1 to 2 weeks. In Kitchen B the drain and supply lines move, outlets and circuits move, and the framing changes, and all of it is inspected before the walls close. That typically runs 3 to 5 weeks, and the new walls add drywall time.
- The kitchen is out of use longer. Kitchen A is typically out of use for 5 to 8 weeks and Kitchen B for 7 to 12 weeks. Either way, the written schedule from the walkthrough tells you which rooms are out of use and for how long.

We are a full-service general contractor, so we handle the build and manage the job start to finish. When a remodel needs electrical, plumbing, or other specialty trades, we bring them in and coordinate the schedule so the work lines up and you deal with one team.
